Every Slot Has a Spec: Sizing Content Before You Generate

There is a particular waste familiar to anyone who sells through a link page: the frame is perfect, the slot is fixed, and the two disagree. The platform crops the composition you balanced, or pads it with blur, or downscales a file you paid to finish — and the post that reaches the audience is not quite the one that passed your inspection. The fix is unglamorous and total: treat every destination slot as a specification, and generate to it from the start.

Inventory the slots

List every place your work appears as if you were writing a delivery sheet: the link page grid, the profile header, the store cover, the feed post, the paid-tier preview. For each, record three readings — the aspect it displays at, the size it rewards, and what it crops when given the wrong shape. This inventory is a page long at most, and it changes rarely. It is also the difference between producing content and producing content that fits.

Compose for the crop you cannot see

Slots that crop centrally forgive centred subjects and punish edge detail. Keep faces and signature details inside the middle band of the frame, and hold backgrounds compositional rather than informative — anything the crop removes should be something the image can lose. On the PlatinumBio bench this is why the standard frame is a tall 832×1248 portrait: it matches the vertical reading of feeds and link grids, and its centre band is where a spec sheet tells you to put the subject.

Finish to the sheet, not to the maximum

Upscaling has a specification too, and it is the slot’s, not the instrument’s ceiling. A cover slot gets a cover-sized finish; a grid thumbnail gets none at all. Working from the inventory, finishing becomes a lookup instead of a judgement call: find the slot, read its size, scale once to exactly that. Credits stop leaking into resolution nobody displays, and every published piece arrives at its destination already measuring correctly — which is, in the end, the whole argument of this studio.
